Some of My Notable Projects

Academic Project: Autonomous Land Vehicle

Inspiration

Recovery of lost hikers and crashed motorcycle riders in canyons, where regular vehicles cannot navigate was the inspiration behind creating this autonomous vehicle that can navigate through roubh terrain guided by nothing more than GPS and a few sensors. The data processing happens in a Raspberry Pi onboard computer, which allows for future expansion and addition of a macera for object recognition and machine vision. Programmed entirely in Python, it serves as a solid base for future modifications and improvements.

Cosmetically Complete

Built on a chassis of a 1:10 scale RC truck, even the most robotic creation can still be disguised as an every day pickup truck. The vehicle has sucessfully completed the testing and has been presented to the faculty.

Work Project: Hikvision Test and Demo environment

Created Out of Necessity

At a company with multiple lines of ever improving products, a need for a robust testing environment was imminent. After carefully planning the build and future expansion, I began the build of a testing lab, which doubled as a demo environment and featured in several promotional videos. “The Wall” as it was nicknamed by the technical support team included 120 cameras, 24 recorders, and when needed could be used to stress-test a third party storage unit, or be used for as a side-by-side comparrison with third party manufacturers’ products.

The Build

  • Due to the meticulous planning the waste was minimal.

  • Over a mile of CAT5e cabling used.

  • 3 48 port ICC patch panels, several hundred of RJ45 connectors

  • Dedicated VLANs and load balancing

Fundraising and Charity

Spinal Research

For three years in a row organized and participated in fundraising for a UK based spinal research organization that helps thousands of people suffering from spinal injuries. Spinal injuries are common among motorcycle riders, and being a rider I wanted to act and make a difference. I have organized online fundraising through GoFundMe as well as organized charity motorcycle rides. In three years over $2000 was donated to the cause.

A Thank You

The ambassador of the Spinal Research is Guy Martin, a TT racer and a person with multiple spinal injuries. In 2018 for my participation I’ve received a participation certificate from Spinal Research, and as a thank you“, Guy sent me his authographed photo.
